Vertebration, Inc. was founded out of a conceptual business plan developed by a team of Executive MBA students from The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business, which included Dr. Henry Fabian as one of the team members. The plan was recognized as the 2004 Deloitte Business Plan Competition Winner at the Fisher College of Business and was later featured as the November 2004 cover story of Fortune Small Business Magazine, as the winner of their national business plan competition.
The co-founders and management team have since moved this plan from a concept into an emerging business focused on minimally invasive spine technology. By leveraging the initial funding from the business plan competitions, the team began product design and development in December 2004. In April of 2007, Vertebration, Inc. received FDA 510K approval for the XYcor™ Spinal Implant. Vertebration has initiated the process of a limited launch of the XYcor Spinal Implant and continues to build the company’s product pipeline which includes continued expansion of the XYcor™ Spinal Implant Family and additional innovative spinal solutions focused on MIS based procedures. |
